The ventricles contract.
The electrical impulse travels to the atrioventricular (AV) node, which delays ventricular contraction.
The sino-atrial (SA) node acts as a pacemaker which generates an electrical impulse.
This electrical impulse causes the atria to contract.
The electrical impulse continues its path to the bundle of His, to conduct the impulse to the Purkinje fibres.
