In addition to the Six Articles of Faith and the Five Roots of Usul ad-Din, there are other principles also governing the systems of religious practice within both Sunni and Shi'a Islam. These are the Five Pillars of Islam and the Ten Obligatory Acts of Islam. The Five Pillars are as follows: the ; the practice of ; the practice of during Ramadan; the giving of and the taking of the pilgrimage of . The Ten Obligatory Acts share some of the same concepts as the Five Pillars – including the Salah, Sawm, Zakah and Hajj. However, there are extra elements within the Ten Obligatory Acts.
