There are various initiatives and events run by national governing bodies, charities and other not-for-profit organisations, which all aim to promote values through the sports they represent. They are implemented on either a local, regional or national scale, depending on the necessity of different areas of the country or the country as a whole. Below are some examples of these and the values they aim to promote.
- is a charity organisation which was formed in 2002 through a joint partnership between BBC Sport and Comic Relief, using both sport and entertainment to raise for vulnerable people in the UK and overseas. The event is aired on every two years and has had increasing success, managing to raise around £40 million in its latest broadcast in 2020. It helps to promote by encouraging participation in all social groups, and citizenship through professional sports stars and the general population giving back to the people through the event.

It was originally formed as Let's Kick Out of Football, but now encompasses discrimination on a larger scale, such as that against different genders and people with disabilities. Therefore, it helps promote and respect of different cultures.

- Chance to was a programme run by the Cricket Foundation, a charity organised by the national governing body of cricket in England and Wales - the . Its primary aims were to increase the number of available opportunities for children in state schools to play, learn and develop through cricket. As it helps to inspire young people to put all their effort into working towards being the very best, it promotes as a sporting value.
- The Premier League's project uses football as a means to create opportunities for a diverse range of people at grassroots level, thereby promoting . It is also a way in which elite clubs can give back to the community, thereby promoting the value of . Contributions have been made to the development of local facilities, education, health and cohesion via various initiatives organised through this project.
