There are main types of leadership style which will suit a variety of organisational structures:

  1. A leadership style where managers tell their staff what to do and how they want it done without any input from the employees is called leadership.
  2. A leadership style which is also known as participative leadership, where employees take more of a role in the decision-making process, is called leadership.

A leadership style where there is one dominant manager who treats employees like members of their own family and asks for their opinions but ultimately tries to make decisions in their best interests is called leadership.
