There are four ghosts in A Christmas Carol. First, the ghost of comes to warn Scrooge about his miserly ways. Next, the shows Scrooge his past. We find out that he was a lonely boy at school but was happy when he was apprenticed to , who we see was a kind employer. We also discover that Scrooge had been engaged to , but she broke off the engagement when Scrooge started putting money before her.
