There are lots of teachings about social justice in the holy text of Islam, the . This includes the teaching included in 7:155–157. This passage teaches Muslims that will forgive his followers and have on them, should they turn to Allah in repentance, and those who also shun , pay to charity and believe in Allah. It also refers to the 'People of the Book' – these are and as people who have guidance through their own religious texts. This passage encourages to do what is right according to the Qur'an, and states that the 'People of the Book' will also have good moral guidance according to their holy texts. By acting in a just manner then society will continue to be just.
