There are various texts in Islam, but the most important is the , which is considered to be the final revelation given to by God via the angel Jibril. This is considered to be the Word of and, therefore, without error and immutable. Other texts which are considered to be holy include traditional texts from other Abrahamic faiths, such as Christianity and . Examples of this are the holy texts of the , which is the Arabic term for the Gospels given to the Prophet Isa (), the , which is the Arabic term for the Torah which was given to the Prophet (Moses), and the , which is the Arabic term for the Psalms which were given to the Prophet (David). Each of these other holy texts are considered to be past from God; however, it is believed that their content has become misunderstood or misinterpreted, leading to religions such as Christianity and Judaism. This misunderstanding led to the necessity for God to send the revelation of the Qur'an, which is considered to be utterly perfect and without error.
