  • On the 'go command' by a partner, the subject gets up as quickly as they can and runs around the cones as quickly as possible
  • Results rated as 'excellent' is achieved if males achieve more than 15.2 seconds and females achieve more than 17 seconds.
  • The test stops when the subject has crossed the finish line.
  • Their results, timed by a stopwatch and measured in seconds, should be compared against normative data for their gender and age.
  • The course must be completed by running in order between start and finish; the subject should avoid knocking any cones over.
  • A flat, non-slippery surface should be used to place 8 cones down. The first 4 cones should create a rectangle, the length of the course should be 10m in length and 5m wide.
  • The remaining 4 cones should be placed vertically down the middle/centre and should be spread 3.3m apart.
  • The subject should lie face down at the start line, with their head facing towards the start line, their hands can be placed by their shoulders.
