  • As I finish my run round the lake and rejoin the path, I think about the delicious breakfast I know will be waiting for me when I get home. I can almost smell the sizzling bacon and slightly burnt toast. I speed up now that I'm on the home stretch.
  • Finally, I leave the greenness of the park and sprint back along the street towards my house. A few strides later I open the red front door and head towards the kitchen.
  • Every day at 7 o'clock, I wake up, quickly put on my shorts and T-shirt, grab my trainers and head to my local park for a run. I have loved running since I was a little kid. My dad says that I never walked anywhere as a child; I literally ran around all day.
  • By 7.30, I'm whizzing past trees and bushes, the wind in my hair and the sound of the birds in my ears. I love the sound my trainers make as they pound along the path in time with my heartbeat. Running really is my favourite thing to do in the whole world.
  • Once I've passed through the trees, I do a circuit of the small lake. Swans, ducks and geese float gracefully along the water's surface. At this time of the morning, it's just me and the birds and it's easy to forget that the rest of the world exists.
