Here we see that not only do the children know the names of different weapons, but they also know how they are used.
We see another form of weaponry here, adding to the violent tone and demonstrating that the children are well-versed in weapons, fighting and violence.
There is more foreshadowing here. When the violence of the childhood games spills over into adulthood, there are fatal consequences.  
The children are clearly aware of different types of weaponry, probably from watching television, and they are clearly emulating the things they have seen. The language, paired with the extreme weapon, is particularly violent.
As well as the children playing adult-themed games, they are also shown to speak and think in an adult way. There is a direct contrast made between these children and Edward, and Russell is clearly making a comment about social class. 
We see that the children do not consider the consequences of violence as we are reminded that they are playing a game. The language changes from adultlike to childlike, and poignancy is created through foreshadowing.
Here we see the quick thinking and ingenuity of the children, suggesting that they have to fight to survive in real life as well as in their games. 
The repetition here creates poignancy as we know from the ending of the play that this childish interpretation of death is simply not true. 
The repeated references to guns in the text create foreshadowing. There is irony in the fact that the children play with guns – both imaginary ones and Sammy's air pistol.
