Exam Practice Notes

When writing a speech, remember to include:

• an address to your audience, e.g. 'Good afternoon ladies and gentleman' / 'Hello everybody'
• who you are and why you are giving the speech
• clear paragraphs so your audience can understand the topic
• examples and anecdotes to paint a picture for your audience
• rhetorical questions to engage your audience
• a clear conclusion summing up your topic
• perhaps finish by asking whether anyone has any questions
