Chromatic Scale Learn

The main thing to note is that there is no right or wrong way to notate a chromatic scale.

But, there are better and worse ways to notate the scale.

This example has an A major scale key signature, which uses three sharps that we can use when writing our chromatic scale.

As a guide, it is better to try to stick to using just one or two types of accidentals (like sharps and naturals, or flats and naturals) in a chromatic scale. If we continuously switch between flats, sharps and naturals, it can be very difficult to read.
