All  malerichableelderly Muslims should observe Sawm, which is a fast from food and  workdamnationdrinkbathing during the hours of daylight (i.e from dawn until dusk) – furthermore, Muslims should also abstain from  sexboard gamesmusicplaying bingo and  rowingusing the internetcyclingtobacco. Because the Islamic calendar is  eternalwrongsolarlunar, the time which Ramadan occurs moves around the year – so in some years the period of time between dawn and dusk can be much longer, while in others it can be much shorter. All Muslims should aim to observe Ramadan as it is an important pillar of faith, however there are exceptions made for those whom fasting would harm. For example  marriedskinnyblondepregnant women should not fast as this is considered to be a medical exemption, and the woman should make a charitable donation instead of fasting. Young  grandparentschildrendogswomen should also be exempt from fasting as their bodies are still growing, so fasting could result in malnutrition and stunted growth. Such exemptions are considered an example of the idea that Allah is  benignimmanentmercifultranscendent.
