Modern society has a high level of  feminismvarietyinequalitydisappointment which many people view as being something which should be celebrated. Places such as the UK and the US in particular are known as being  differentfailingwarmmulticultural societies, meaning that they are communities made up of people from all creeds, races, sexualities, etc. This can and should make for a rich tapestry of people and in an ideal world would result in a society which functions harmoniously while celebrating differences. However, due to a variety of different reasons, these differences can lead to the development of  oppositionprejudiceideasconcepts against groups different to one's own. This means that you might have a disposition to view another person in a specific, usually  discouragingpositiveencouragingnegative, way. This can lead to treating that person in a different way because of the fact that they are part of a specific demographic. This is known as  lyingsuccessjusticediscrimination. This kind of treatment is wrong, and causes  povertycomplicationsinequalityjustice within society. An example of this is  feminismsexismarchivingemotivism – for example, if a boss is a man who has specific ideas about how  womenmenchildrengrandparents are supposed to act or what they are supposed to be like (e.g. being 'over emotional'), this might mean that he might be inclined not to hire a woman for a job. This is discrimination and unequal treatment on the basis of sex. One way this can be seen in religion is in the matter of the  ordinationpunishmentglorificationimprisonment of women. Due to particular Bible verses such as 1  HarryAmosGenesisTimothy 2:12, which states, "I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.", it has been traditionally held that women should not take on the role of preaching. However, in modern times this has been challenged as it is discrimination on the basis of sex. Some proponents of the ordination of women have pointed out such Biblical characters as  EmilyPhoebeVictoriaAlice and Deborah, both of whom are described as holding important leadership roles in religious communities in the Bible without issue or question. Such arguments tend to point out that the teaching in  PhilippiansTimothyJobMark may be a reaction to a specific issue at the time and should only be understood in its context rather than as a blanket rule.
