A sacrament is a religious  failureritualideaoffering which is really important to the life of Christians. Sacraments are considered to be a way in which Christians can partake in the  graceloveideapresence of God. Communion is an example of this – believers can partake in the  deathmiraclessufferinglife of Jesus through the ritualised eating of  biscuitsfishcakebread and wine which have been blessed. This can also be seen in the sacrament of believer's  religious vowsmarriagebaptismcommunion, where believers are lowered into the water, which is considered to be symbolic of them being lowered into the death of  JudasJesusDavidMoses, and raised out of the water, which is symbolic of their participation in his resurrection. These are rituals which take place as isolated incidents, i.e. either multiple times during church services, or once in a lifetime. However, with some sacraments, these can be considered to be  a callingan effecta degradationa restriction on an individual's life, such as marriage or the taking of religious  vowsideasscripturesrituals. These will affect the entire trajectory of how that individual will live their whole, daily life.
