We derive a lot of important products from rainforests, and rainforests are important for the health of the planet, providing many roles such as climate control and water recycling. We call these ecosystem goods and services. An examples of a good includes  carsbiodiversitytimberwildlife habitats. An example of a service includes  coffeecarbon sequestrationtimberair conditioning. Services that ecosystems use are called  openingprovisioningsupportingclosing. The rainforests play an important role in  the carbon cycle onlythe sweets and sugar industrythe carbon and water cyclesland value. Rainforests help to protect against climate change because  they absorb nitrogenthey release nitrogenthey absorb carbon dioxidethey release carbon dioxide. When we cut down the trees, we release  carbon dioxideheliumpropaneoxygen into the atmosphere. We’re not sure how many species live in the rainforests, and we make new discoveries all the time. Rainforests are an important source for  medicinespaperrockgraphite, which is why it’s important to protect the species, as they could lead to new cures. Hunters operate in rainforests in order to hunt animals for the illegal trade in bush meat. The process is called  fryingpoachingscramblingboiling. We also cut down rainforests for farming.
