Health and fitness are two terms that are often used interchangeably, but it is important to know the difference between the two and understand the relationship between health and fitness.

Health is defined as a state of complete social,  eatingwellnessmentalsleeping and physical well-being and not merely the absence of  diseasemoneywell-beingfitness or infirmity (World Health Organization). On the other hand, fitness is defined as an individual’s ability to cope with, or  avoidstay clear ofignoremeet, the  peopledemandsbalancerequests of the environment.

Poor  physicalwellnesssocialmental health and well-being may include a perception of limited value within society, not having many friends or much support, and an inability to mix with other people or meet essential human needs. 

Poor  well-beingmentalemotionalwellness health and well-being may include an inability to cope with stress and emotions, and a general sense of feeling low or having low self-esteem.

Poor  wellnesssocialphysicalemotional health and well-being may include illness, injury, disease, an inability to carry out everyday tasks, and poor working of the body systems.
