 UnclassifiedSensitiveCommercialPublic information is any information that would damage a person, a business or even national security if that information was viewed by someone who wasn’t supposed to see it. This includes private, business, confidential and classified information.

For  non-sensitivesensitivesecretnon-public information, it doesn’t matter who sees it – it’s probably intended for a wide audience anyway; for example, most company websites, news articles, press releases and so on. Essentially anything that a person or company makes freely available for us to see. You can easily search for, and find, that information. The postal address of your school is not sensitive, but your  doctor'sgovernment’shomedentist’s address would be.

 PersonalPrivatePublic domainImpersonal data is any data that is not shared with the public.  SecretTop-secretClassifiedPublic data can be compiled by a government, and includes any data that is available for us to freely view.  ConfidentialTop-secretClassifiedPersonal information is any information that can be used to personally identify you.  BusinessPersonalPublicTop secret information is generated through the everyday running of a commercial enterprise.  UnclassifiedClassifiedNon-sensitiveConfidential information is any information that is not public and that is worthy of protecting.  BusinessClassifiedConfidentialCommercial information goes a step further and is largely held by governments and the military.

Sometimes, information can be anonymised. If only some of that data is removed, then the anonymisation is only  one per cent alteredcompletepartialfull. If all of that data is removed, the anonymisation is  completepatchypartialimpartial. Each  entitybusinessstakeholdercorporation has a different use for the information. Anyone  protectingprocessingrunningstoring and using (processing) personal data must protect the data from being leaked, stolen or seen by others. Individuals and businesses may suffer damage to their integrity, reputation and identity through data  anonymisationstoragebreachesuse.
