The pancreas is the endocrine tissue that is responsible for  producing calciumproducing glucoseblood calcium concentrationblood glucose concentration. When the concentration is high, the pancreas is stimulated to produce  testosteroneinsulinoestrogenglucagon. This causes the movement of  glucoseglycogenureaoxygen from the blood into liver and muscle cells, and excess is converted into  glucagonstarchglycogencellulose.

Failure to control blood glucose concentration is an indicator of diabetes.  AcuteChronicType 1Type 2 diabetes is when the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin, as opposed to the body no longer being able to respond to the insulin produced.
