Welcome to my presentation. Today I'm going to be discussing an issue in my local community. The issue I have chosen to talk about is the fact that there's just nothing for teenagers to do after school. there are lots of activities for young children, , once you get to high school you seem to be forgotten about. Evidence suggests that teenagers are more likely to get into trouble if they feel like they have nothing to do; , this evidence does not seem to be taken seriously at all. , mental health experts are in agreement that hobbies, leisure and pastimes are as important for the well-being of teenagers as they are for younger children. Which raises the question, why are young children catered for but teenagers ignored?
I surveyed 25 people aged 13–15 and found that just one person attended an extracurricular activity which they had to travel out of the village to access. you have transport, this option isn't available to you, the fact that 24 out of 25 people aren't able to access activities outside of school hours.
to finding out how many teenagers take part in after school activities, I collected ideas for the types of activities teenagers would love to see happening in the village. Some were more sensible than others, I admit, but there were some great proposals.
