Robert Smith glared out of his living room window at the children playing in the street. Too noisy, that’s what they were. Little rascals. The sun beamed down from the blue sky. Sounds of whoops, cheers and laughter erupted outside. He squinted through his glasses and grunted loudly. Raking a wrinkly hand through his short, grey hair, he turned away from the racket with a huff. He shuffled back towards his armchair and slowly eased himself down into the spongy cushions. Pointedly, he shook out his newspaper and reached over for the pen he’d slammed down on the table next to him. Twelve down had been bothering him for some time now, and he needed peace and quiet to concentrate. 'Identify an infamous monument heralded as superior to all others'. He mused and pondered, trying to think, but the din outside had got to him and made his brain all fuzzy.
