The cosmological argument is an argument for the existence of Allah which is important in Islamic thought. It is explored in the writings of Al-  IsaAllahMuhammadGazali, an eleventh-century Islamic scholar. He puts forward his version of the argument in his  KitabTalmudKitubQur’an al-lqtisad fil’ltiqad which talks about the  KalimKarimKalumKalam cosmological argument. The Islamic form of the argument goes as follows:

Whatever  deignsbeginsceasesforgets to exist has a cause.

Every cause has a cause.

This cannot go back forever into  patientinfiniteforevertimely regress.

Therefore, there must be a  FirstSecondThirdFourth Cause, which was itself  causeduncauseddisappointedspontaneous.

That cause is Allah.
