A miracle is an event which is  supernaturalmarkedcreativespecial and is believed to have come from God. Miracles are believed to demonstrate to human beings the love, power and nature of God. 

The  BibleTalmudVedasQur'an is filled with various tales of miracles – both in the Old and New  TestamentsBooksSurahsChapters. Jesus performed a number of miracles throughout his ministry – these included various  magic trickscreationstransfigurations of itemshealings. Jesus' miracles include the Feeding of the  Eight ThousandSeven ThousandSix ThousandFive Thousand.

John 4:43–54 contains the account of Jesus healing the  official's sonPharisee's motherRoman's brotherRabbi's daughter. This conveys the power of God given to Jesus, establishing Jesus as being divine (as God's Son). In the story, Jesus heals someone from a great distance, only with the power of his words. 

Christians believe that miracles are proof of God's existence – without God and his power, these miracles would not happen. Christians believe that miracles still happen today – for example, miraculous  appearancesfloodshealingsjourneys. There have been events where healings could not be explained by science, which many Christians have claimed to be examples of God's miracles in the modern day. Non-Christians would instead argue that these are not miracles, but that science has just not yet been able to find the right explanation.
