The concept of the  qualitysanctityvaluelength of life is an important concept within Christianity. Christians believe that  thinkinglifeconsciousnessdeath is a gift given to human beings by God. The Bible teaches that God is the one who had created life, such as within the book of  RevelationExodusGenesisJohn, specifically chapters one to  fourthreefivesix. This account contains the biblical account of  crucifixionPassovercreationpassion, where it describes God intentionally creating human beings in his own  pictureidealimageperfection; this is sometimes referred to as 'imago dei' and is a common phrase used when discussing the idea of the sanctity of human life.

Christians believe that all life is special because God created it in his likeness, and placed human beings above the rest of creation in the story of Genesis. Human life, therefore, has implicit dignity and because of this, it should be viewed and treated as  the same as animalspreciousdisposableunimportant. Christians believe that their lives do not belong to themselves, but are made by God and, therefore, are guided and determined by God.

This argument becomes particularly important when discussing many moral issues – from medical ethics to issues of war.
