Christians believe that everything that is good comes from  the skyGodcreationthe Bible. This begins within the book of  LeviticusGenesisExodusNumbers in the Bible, where God created the world and saw that everything was  goodpermissibleacceptablefallen. Then, human beings chose to disobey God's commandments, and this allowed for evil to enter the world  through human misuse of free will.

This is known as  righteousnesssinbadnessgoodness. Evil actions are considered to be actions which break the rules of God and cause suffering to other people.

Christians believe that evil entered the world through sin, and because of this, the world is now fallen from its originally intended state. This event in the Bible can be found in Genesis 3 and is known as the  Great CommissionFallMistakeCollapse

Christians believe that good actions are following the commandments of God – the Bible teaches that following these commandments and living a righteous life will mean rewards in  Jannahhellheavenpurgatory. However, the Bible also states that those who follow an unrighteous path and choose instead to sin will be punished in the afterlife, if they do not repent beforehand.

There is a lot of crossover between what Christians and people of other/no faith groups believe regarding good, evil and suffering. For example – atheist humanists would agree that actions such as murder, theft, lying and rape are evil actions because of the suffering they cause other people. However, atheist humanists do not believe that evil exists because of the Fall, but rather that evil exists as an unfortunate reality of the world. Some may even point to the existence of evil as being proof that  JesusGodAbrahamMuhammad does not actually exist.
