Christians believe that they have been saved from the consequences of their  sinactionstrialsdeeds, because Jesus took the punishment intended for them by  beingdyingspeakingpreaching on the cross. They believe that this means they can live their lives without fear of  deathcondemnationforgivenessrevenge for their mistakes because they have been saved. Where sin had previously  separateddeliveredmovedtaken them from God and condemned them to punishment for these actions, Jesus' death means that Christians are able to live in  helljoyrelationshipunion with God having been  freedencouragedcondemnedforgiven for their sins. This means that they are able to be with God when they die, and to live on in  purgatoryhelllimboheaven.
